Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is a famous American model and actress. When she was a model as a child, she won critical acclaim when she played the leading role in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teens and appeared in several dramas throughout the 1980s such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981). In 1983 Shields left her modeling career to go to Princeton University where she received a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. Shields began acting again in the early 1990s, and appeared in minor parts in movies. She also appeared on the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), for which she received two Golden Globe nominations, and Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009). In 2017 Shields returned to NBC with a major , recurring role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the show's 19th season. From 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields is a New Yorker who was born on May 31st 1965 in Manhattan. She is the daughter and businessman Frank Shields (1941-1903). According to William Addams Reitwiesner's research, Shields is related to various noble families of Italy specifically from Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was the Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi who was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. Teri's family paid Frank a sum of money to end her pregnancy.
